The collection contains architectural drawings for various central Virginia homes, churches and businesses; University of Virginia buildings and renovations; a few other schools in the South; and some miscellaneous items including two 1955 maps of Charlottesville. Drawings are present for Minor Hall, the Electrical Engineering Laboratories (Thornton Hall?), a medical center records storage center, and a cafeteria. Bayly Art Museum drawings by Edmund S. Campbell and Robert E. Lee Taylor are also included. There are also designs for the Church of the Holy Rosary, Richmond, Va.; Bishop Payne Divinity School, Petersburg, Va.; St. Paul Normal and Industrial School, Lawrenceville, Va., and Voorhees Normal and Industrial School, Denmark, S.C. Drawings for the Azalea House at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, Pa.; the Physical Research Laboratory Experimental Station for the Engineering Department of E.I. DuPont de Nemours, and an Ocean City, Md., condominium feasibility study by Richard Phillips Fox of Newark, Delaware, are also present. There are also photographs of Makielski fishing and plats of his property in Albemarle County, Va.
